Chin Augmentation (Genioplasty) Plastic Surgery for Valdosta, South Georgia and North Central Florida

Facial contouring, and chin augmentation plastic surgery in particular, changes the basic structure of your face. At her plastic surgery center in Valdosta, Georgia, board-certified plastic surgeon Sonya J. Merriman, M.D. uses carefully styled implants to create a more attractive and harmonious balance to your face.

Many patients, both men and women, who come to Dr. Merriman from the South Georgia region, find that their appearance can be greatly improved by enhancements to the chin through chin augmentation plastic surgery (genioplasty). A recessive chin can make the mouth appear to turn down at the corners, which can create an “unhappy” look.

Chin augmentation (implant) plastic surgery can be used to bring the chin to the proper proportions. Chin implants can sometimes improve the appearance of jowls and the hanging tissue in the neck. Some patients consider additional chin enhancement procedures at the same time to improve their result. Patients in the South Georgia and North Central Florida area have sought chin augmentation plastic surgery from Dr. Merriman for some of the following reasons:

  • To create better balance among facial features
  • To balance a “weak” or receding chin
  • To diminish the appearance of jowls and hanging tissue in the neck
  • To gain a more youthful and vibrant appearance

Our Plan for Resuming In-Office Patient Care

We are pleased to annouce our very soft re-opening to patients this Monday, May 4th. We are not opening to full capacity as we are closely following the recommendations of the American Society of Plastic Surgery and our numerous professional affiliations and governing boards. We will be seeing a very limited number of patients per day. The following outlines our plan and what we are doing to keep you safe.

You will be called the day before your appointment and screened for any symptoms. Any symptoms will require rescheduling.

Upon your arrival your temperature will be taken and you will be asked to rescheduled if over 100.0.

You must wear a mask upon entering the building and will only remove if getting a procedure done on the face. We ask that you please bring a mask to your appointment. Due to limited availability we will provide a mask to you for a charge of $5.

No one can accompany you into the office unless there are significant mobility or communication issues you need help with and in that case only one person can come with you. You may not bring children to your appointment.

Our waiting room is closed. You may enter the building to check in and gather any paperwork you may require and return to your car. You will be called when your room is ready.

Office Safety and Sanitation

Employees will also complete a daily questionnaire and have their temperature taken and will be sent home if there are any symptoms. Employees will wear personal protective equipment throughout your entire visit.

Each room and all areas that patients and employees touch including office supplies or equipment will be sanitized thoroughly between patients according to CDC guidelines.

We have missed you and look forward to seeing you back in the office!
