Cellulaze – A cellulite game changer, at Plastic Surgery Associates of Valdosta starting late September 2012
90% of women have cellulite. Almost 100% of those women, who do have it, hate it. In the past 20 years, various treatments have become available to treat cellulite. Some did help as long as you were using it (suction massage treatments like Endomologie) and some did little to nothing. There certainly hasn’t been anything that gave great long lasting results and had high patient satisfaction. Well that was then, this is now. Cellulaze is a onetime procedure that gives excellent results and is long lasting, probably permanent. It has been used in clinical trials for 3 years and the patients treated early in the trials have maintained the results. That is why we say long lasting instead of permanent. Once it has been around a few more years, we will be able to say permanent.
The procedure uses a laser fiber inserted under the skin through a tiny incision to reduce the fat in the bulge areas of cellulite, to divide the fibrous connections between the bulges and to tighten the skin overlying the area. It can be done with only oral medications when small areas are being treated, or can be done with IV anesthesia for larger areas.
Afterwards you do have temporary bruising, swelling, discomfort, leaking of some of the fluid that is injected to numb the areas and sensation changes in the areas that have been treated. You are required to wear compression garments for a few weeks afterwards. Some people have small spider veins show up in the treated areas that usually go away without treatment and there can be some minimal skin discoloration (like a long lasting bruise) that lasts for several weeks in some patients.
Most patients see some improvement within 1 month, but the final results can take 3-6 months to fully appreciate.
We will be offering Cellulaze as well as the new Triplex SmartLipo starting at the end of September 2012. Come see what all of the buzz is about!!
